Logograms

Logograms was a student project done at the Rhode Island School of Design. The only prompt given for this project was to create “100 drawings and 100 pictures”. The 100 illustrations each represent an important word—ranging anywhere from “government” to “water” to “eat”. They were first drawn using ink and brush and then vectorized into icons. I was inspired by the changes in logographic writing systems over time as well as the use of emojis in lieu of text.
