The Message in the Medium

Editorial design and custom lettering for the FW2025 issue of Prattfolio, Pratt’s alumni magazine. This editorial feature was about the late James “Jimmy” Grashow who used cardboard and other unconventional materials in his work. Growing up in Connecticut, Jimmy’s work had a profound impression on me and I was saddened to hear of his passing as we were finishing the design of this article. Using cardboard as a lettering medium was a way to honor his legacy and his joyful approach to art.
